If not, unmount and trash the disc image and return to the Video window to make your changes. If all is okay then burn the disc image in the copy window. You now can preview the DVD using DVD Player. When the disc image is done select it using the Image File setting in the Copy window so that it gets mounted. If you want to see how a menu looks before burning it to disc choose Save as Disc Image (File menu) instead of clicking the burn button. You also can use the Edit window to select the thumbnail image by dragging the playhead to the point you want and click the Set Picture button. If you choose a menu style that displays a thumbnail image you can select the video frame to be used as that image by clicking on it in the Toast window and moving the scroll bar that appears beneath. I'm not sure about the Splash style but it may only show the first line of text regardless of the number of titles per page. ![]() On first launch this window will be hidden. Media Browser (5) The Media Browser allows you to easily browse or find files, and preview or add them to a Toast project. Some will show the second or third lines of text when there is one or a few titles per page in the menu layout. Located at the bottom right of the Toast window, the red record button will begin recording your disc. You can edit that text by clicking on it or by clicking the Edit button and the text is the Info 1, Info 2 and Info 3 appearing in the Text tab of the Edit window.Īll the menu styles will show the first line of text. The three lines of text that are next to the thumbnail image in the main Toast window are the text for that title. You can easily display an image with the following code: SuperToast superToast new SuperToast (getActivity ()) tDuration (SuperToast.DURATIONLONG) tText ('Hello world') superToast. In most cases there is no other text present in the menu. As I commented in this post you can use my SuperToasts library if you do not feel like creating your own Toast View. The DVD name and the description of the titles are the only text you can edit in Toast. VLC Media Player is a free downloadable app. When the disc image is mounted it should be able to be played with DVD Player or with VLC Media Player, although since I updated to Lion it doesn't seem to play with DVD Player now. I previously provided instructions about saving as a disc image. You only can view it by finishing the project either by choosing Save as Disc Image or burning the DVD. The text you write on those three lines does not appear in the preview. I appreciate that Toast has many more features than iDVD but I can't find a way of getting it to do the simple menus I used to on iDVD! I used to have iDVD on my old Mac but having bought a brand new Mac of course it doesn't come with iDVD/iLife! I complained to Apple about the fact that i now couldn't now write to DVDs and they gave me Toast 11. ![]() There doesn't appear to be any way of amending the text on the menu as you could with iDVD. I can't see anywhere on the menu page that it has shown the data I keyed in to Info 1-3. When I go back to Options/Customize/Menus and have a look at the menu screen again it still only shows the title (as in the one I keyed in to 'Menu title' in this same screen) and then Play movie beneath it. On this there are three lines I can edit: I've clicked edit to bring up the Edit Video window. I've gone back into Toast and gone in to the main video window.
